The United Federation of Doll Clubs (UFDC) offers various funds and campaigns that you can support through one-time donations. Your generosity helps us preserve the art of doll collecting, educate future generations, and maintain our vibrant community. This is UFDC’s general fund. It covers expenses associated with management of the organization such as salaries for staff, travel expenses for officers to attend Executive Committee meetings, insurance, legal expenses and office supplies and equipment. It can also be used to supplement, where necessary, other expenses not covered by membership dues or donations.
This fund is a testament to our collective effort as a community to support our headquarters and museum’s maintenance and repair needs. It covers the cost of utilities, janitorial services, lawn care, storm damage repairs, and roof and parking lot repairs. Your contribution to this fund is a direct investment in our shared space, making you an integral part of our community.
This fund will play a pivotal role in our digital transformation, helping us build our online capabilities, such as the UFDC website and our online events. This benefits our current members by providing them with a more interactive and accessible platform and opens up new avenues for us to reach doll collectors worldwide, contributing to our global expansion and the future of UFDC.
Donations to the Convention Fund go directly toward convention expenses. These donations could be used to support such things as printing convention booklets, purchasing ribbons and badges, renting audio-visual equipment for programs, and renting lockable display cases for a special exhibit.
Donations to DOLL NEWS support costs not met by membership dues, such as direct production costs and indirect allocated expenses such as salaries, operating expenses and building expenses.
Donations to the ReAL Services Fund make it possible for us to continue to offer educational products to clubs and individual members as well as supporting the management needs of the UFDC Museum, Library and Archives.
Donations received help defray the costs of caring for the collection. It helps to pay for display items such as risers and accessories, conservation items to clean and repair dolls, storage items such as acid free tissue and collection insurance.
Although the museum regularly receives dolls from very generous donors, it also has a “wish list” that it updates every year. This itemizes “gaps” in the collection. This fund enables us to fill these gaps if an opportunity arises.
Donations to this fund help with supplies for the library and archives such as acid free file folders, labels for the books, scanning of the archives and DOLL NEWS for availability on the website for research by members.
This fund makes it possible for all the UFDC Regional Directors to do their jobs. It covers their expenses when visiting clubs and allows them to send out regional communications and other important information.
This fund is dedicated to supporting the Junior Collectors Program, which aims to foster the next generation of doll collectors. Your donation to this fund will help us provide educational resources, organize special events, and offer scholarships to young collectors, ensuring the future of our hobby.
In keeping with the educational purpose stated in UFDC ’s Articles of Incorporation, UFDC’s Department of ReAL Services has established Scholarship Funds. These Funds promote original research leading to better knowledge, understanding and appreciation of dolls. At present there are four scholarships available which are endowed by ongoing and directed donations. They are the:
This ongoing campaign provides the opportunity to pay for one day of the utility and internet expenses of the UFDC headquarters, which currently stands at $78 per day. Your participation in this campaign ensures the smooth running of our daily operations, allowing us to focus our resources on other important initiatives. Choose your favorite day of the year to sponsor - each donor will be published in DOLL NEWS. If you donate online, choose "PAY-A-DAY CAMPAIGN" in the drop-down menu and then put your favorite day of the year in the comments box.
This campaign runs every 2 years to raise funds to honor the outgoing UFDC President. If you or your club would like to contribute, it would be an excellent way to show your appreciation for their contributions to our organization. The funds collected will be used to purchase a doll for the UFDC Museum in their honor, which will be a lasting testament to their leadership and dedication. The Collections Oversight Committee will be charged with purchasing the doll which will be displayed at the relevant Convention and then in the UFDC Museum.
To Adopt-A-Doll from the UFDC Collection, choose a doll from a category of your choice such as Cloth, Wooden, Vinyl etc. You will receive a photo of your doll along with information about the doll’s history, size etc. Your donation of $100 a year will help ensure that it will be well taken care of, today and in the future. If you are donating online, choose "ADOPT-A-DOLL CAMPAIGN" in the drop-down menu, and then put your choice of doll category in the comments box. Or you can fill in the form on the website and mail it to UFDC Headquarters.
Everyone who designates their contribution for the donor tree will have their name and message permanently engraved on a leaf of this remarkable donor recognition tree. This is our way of showing gratitude and recognizing your invaluable support for UFDC.
