1834 Promenade Dress
November 14th-17th, 2024
UFDC Doll Museum, Kansas City, MO
This Alice Leverett workshop project is an 1834 Promenade Dress composed of lavender and lilac printed fine cotton. The Corsage is plain but has fabric folds attached at the shoulders which form a graceful front arrangement. The fulness of the overly ample long sleeves is confined below the elbow forming lower sleeve bouillons. Worn over the Corsage and fastened in the front with two Pomona Green bows of the same color as the trimmings on the lavender straw bonnet, is a lace Mantelet with scarf ends.
This costume is designed to fit 10½-inch “Psyche,” a newly created Alice Leverett doll inspired by beautiful 1834-1878 paper dolls of the same name, or, of course, The Petite Ultimate™, Marie Terese, or a 10½-inch French Fashion-style doll similar in proportion. Please note that the doll is not included. Alice will give hands-on guidance throughout the four days at the UFDC Headquarters, where attendees may also enjoy the fabulous displays in the UFDC Museum.
Workshop Registration: $475
