We’re thrilled to announce that our own Bradley Justice, former region 8 director and contributing editor to Doll News, has been given the “Barbie’s Best Friend” award. The award was presented by Carol Spencer at this year’s Barbie Convention in Nashville, TN.
Bradley told us,
I am home from Barbie convention and wanted to let you know that at this year’s convention I was awarded “Barbie’s Best Friend”, it’s the most prestigious and only award given at Barbie convention and it has only been given out 22 of the 35 conventions. I was honored for my work with Doll News Magazine and the research and preservation of the Barbie collection at UFDC.
I think this is a wonderful step in the right direction of bringing Barbie people and UFDC together.
As mentioned, Bradley Justice is the former Region 8 Director for UFDC, and Curator for the Doll and Miniature Museum of High Point, North Carolina. Bradley has devoted most of his adult life to his hobby. Although a lover of antique French fashion dolls and cloth dolls from his home state of North Carolina, he has recently returned to his original passion, the Barbie doll. Bradley has curated three museum exhibits with Barbie as the subject, as well as written and provided many programs on the subject. A founding member of the Queen Anne’s Revenge Doll Club, Bradley is a member of three additional UFDC doll clubs. In 2008, Bradley was the recipient of UFDC Award of Excellence for the Display of Dolls.
We also met UFDC Region 13 RD, Jane O’Hara!
